the tree has been gracing our living room for a few weeks now! plastic fantastic - however i had to resist the temptation of imparting substential authenticity via pine scented toilet freshener. 
i was allowed to open presents that came from the land where clocks work differently and where early-bird santas shine with efficiency - plus one spousal present was revealed - so: garlic cloves, beware! 
the rest of the day was all sunday-like with memory drenched sensations - and, with a slight feeling of melancholy, which found itself outvoted by fondness, i gazed back at christmasses long gone. The swap of carp and advent wreath for turkey and christmas crackers will be celebrating its second anniversary soon.
our sociability didnt exceed the phone conversation-level - disc world adventures for him; longstockings and little boys stuck in soup bowls for me.
note to self: do not inhale when reducing sauces with vinegar.
